Students studying tourism are required to study research techniques and methodologies as part of their tourism degree. For many students, the research process is not always linked to tourism, with many students assuming that research is more relevant to management, humanities and other disciplines. A major aim of this text is to encourage students to think more about the importance of research in tourism, appreciating the role that it plays in the tourism industry.
